CT Healthy Homes Fund
You may be wondering what that new $12 charge is on your homeowner's policy. Starting January 1, 2019 all home and condo policies in the state are being assessed a $12 surcharge to fund the Healthy Homes Fund.
The fund has been established to assist CT homeowners who have been impacted by crumbling foundations due to pyrrhotite. These issues are occurring primarily in the northeastern and northcentral part of the state and effects homes built between 1983 and 2015 whose foundations were poured using concrete containing pyrrhotite. This mineral causes the foundations to crack and crumble over time.
This $12 charge cannot be removed or refunded, and it is not being charged by your insurance carrier. It is a state regulated surcharge.

Happy New Year!
The Newberry Group agencies and staff enjoyed a wonderful holiday season and embraced the spirit of helping others.
Our annual Thanksgiving food drive was a great success, and we were happy to donate three boxes of canned goods to the South Windsor Food and Fuel Bank.
We are so proud of our team for sponsoring a local family in need by donating Christmas gifts to a young mother and her three children.
In addition we decided to forego our typical holiday gifting and instead made monetary donations to four local food pantries. These organizations do wonderful work in our local communities and need our support.
It was a rewarding experience for us all to help others and spread some holiday cheer.
We thank all our valued customers for your support in 2018, and we wish you the best as we start the new year!
